Banana Bread With. Brown Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1 C sour cream
  • 1/2 C butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 C mashed ripe banana
  • 2 t. Vanilla extract
  • 2 C. Flour
  • 1 t. Baking soda
  • 3/4 t. Salt
  • 1/2 C. Chopped walnuts
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 C. Butter
  • 4 C confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 T. Milk
  • 1 1/2 t. Vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Step 1
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 15x10-inch jelly roll pa.
  3. Step 2.
  4. Beat sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs in a bowl with an electric mixer until cream. Beat in bananas and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix for 1 min. Stir walnuts into evenly incorporated. Spread batter in prepared pan.
  5. Step 3
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until golden, about 27 minutes. Cool.
  7. Step 4
  8. Melt butter in a large saucepan over med heat until bubbling and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  9. Step 5
  10. Whisk confectioners’ sugar , milk and vanilla extract into melted butter until smooth frosting consistency is reached. Spread frosting over cooled banana bars.
