Chop onions, carrots and garlic and fry until slightly browing in a deep pot.
Drain beans and lentils and add to the pot. I also rinse them in a colander.
Add tomatoes with the liquid to the pot.
Add rest of ingredients.
Blend with immersion blender until desired consistency. We have made ours on the smooth side for the grandkids who may not like a chunkier texture.
Adjust to taste with additional spices, sugar salt or pepper as may be necessary.
