  • 1 pound dried black beans, rinsed
  • 1 white onion, halved

Directions

  1. 1Spray the insert of a large slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Add the beans and onion halves. Cover with 2 inches of water.
  2. 2Cook on Low for 7 to 9 hours, or until the beans are tender. Discard the onion.
  3. 3Serve the beans whole or mashed.
