Black Wolf Run Corn Sausage Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1/2 cup course lay chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon imitation brandy mixed with 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4-1/2 cups peeled, diced potatoes (or 2 cans diced potatoes, drained)
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 Tbs chicken base or 5 bouillon cubes
  • 1 can whole- kernel corn, drained
  • I cup milk
  • 2 cups whipping cream

Directions

  1. Brown sausage in a large soup pot over high heat.. Drain fat and add onions. Sauté until onions are transparent.
  2. Add brandy flavored mixture and reduce until almost gone, about 2 mins.
  3. Add marjoram, rosemary, basil, bay leaf, potatoes, water, chicken base, and corn.
  4. Red use heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  5. Add milk and whipping cream. Bring to a boil.
