Lightly toss bread cubes and custard in large bowl;
Set aside for 10-15 minutes for bread to absorb; will vary based on type of bread. Note: It’s better if bread is somewhat dense to hold up to the custard; if using a softer bread, don’t soak, just poor custard over bread in dish and immediately bake.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Poor soaked bread mixture into a nonstick sprayed 9x9 glass baking dish
Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown with slight crusting on top
Finish by drizzling chocolate and caramel onto surface (optional)
Serve warm or cold along with fat free whipped topping, favorite ice cream or just alone.
