British Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • ground lamb (or 1 pack of ground meat)
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • 8 cups mashed potato (1 kg)
  • 2 stick of celery
  • 2 carrot
  • 2 onion
  • 2 garlic clove
  • 2 tbs tomato purée
  • 4 sprig thyme
  • 4 tbs flour
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 392 f degrees
  2. Finely chop onion, garlic, and thyme leaves
  3. Dice carrot and celery
  4. Heat up olive oil and sear ground meat for 2-3 minutes. Break it up with a spoon
  5. Add the vegetables and season with salt and pepper
  6. Add tomato purée and roast for about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add flour and stir for another 2 minute
  8. Fill up with chicken stock and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes
  9. Place meat evenly in an ovenproof bowl and spread mashed potato over. (Covering the meat)
  10. Grate Parmesan cheese on top
  11. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
