Ingredients

  • 113 grams (½ cup, 120 ml) oil or melted butter, slightly cooled
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 60 grams (½ cup) all purpose flour
  • 30 grams (⅓ cup) cocoa powder (natural or dutch processed)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • FOR THE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE LAYER
  • 113 grams (½ cup, 1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 150 grams (¾ cup) dark brown sugar, (light brown sugar can be used, but will be slightly less chewy)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 150 grams (1 ¼ cup) all-purpose flour
  • 150 grams (1 cup) chocolate chips + more for topping
