In a mixing bowl cream butter, shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla: beat well.
In a bowl, stir together dry ingredients: stir into creamed mixture till blended. Stir fin chocolate pieces and nuts (optional). Drop from small cookie scoop: 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie street. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet to rack: cool. Make 6 dozen cookies. ENJOY!
