Chow Mein

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 750 g minced meat (all beef, or half beef half pork)
  • 3 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 packet chicken noodle soup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 sticks of celery, sliced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • ¼ cabbage, sliced
  • ½ cup water, approx
  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • Serves 6

Directions

  1. Heat oil, add onion and cook until transparent. Add meat and cook over high heat until the meat is well browned. Add curry powder, soup mix, salt and pepper and mix well. Add remaining ingredients, combine with the meat, reduce heat, cover and simmer for at least half an hour.
  2. Serve with rice.
