Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 13x9 baking dish with butter.
Remove the dough from the cans and lay them out side by side on wax paper or other non-stick surface.
Use a rolling pin to smooth out the dough and eliminate the separation lines so you ultimately have 1 large rectangle of dough.
Spread 1/4 cup softened butter all over the dough, leaving 1” uncovered at one of the short ends of the rectangle.
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the butter, again leaving 1” uncovered at the same end of the rectangle.
Starting at the opposite short end of the rectangle, slowly roll the whole rectangle, keeping it tight.
Using a serrated knife or a string, cut the roll into 8 equal slices. Place the slices into a buttered 9x13 baking dish.
Spread a small amount of softened butter on the tops of the cinnamon rolls.
Bake for 25-28 minutes at 375 degrees F until rolls are set and golden brown on top.
Let cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle icing on top. Enjoy!
