Cut cucumbers in half lengthwise, run a teaspoon down to remove the seeds. Cut into thin slices and place in a colander sprinkled with the salt. Let it drain in the sink for 1/2 an hour.
Placed chopped onion in cold water for 10 min. Drain in a fine mesh strainer and blot with paper towel.
Tip the colander onto the sink to remove excess water and then lay the cucumbers on a clean tea towel and blot dry.
In a medium bowl add the cucumbers, onion and other ingredients. Mix well, cover and stand in the fridge for at least 1/2 an hour or up to 12 hours.
