Dairy-Free Frozen Hot Cocoa

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups almond or soy milk (add a bit more or less to taste to adjust thickness)
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup ice (or more frozen banana or frozen watermelon)
  • 1/2 fresh banana, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp non-dairy whipped cream
  • optional boosts:
  • * Blend in a tablespoon of hemp seeds or protein powder
  • * 1 Tbsp almond butter for a nutty spin!
  • * 2 tsp raw cacao nibs for a rich dark chocolate flavor
  • * Sprinkle warm skillet-toasted pecans on top to serve
  • * Want more decadence? substitute 1 frozen banana with a big scoop of vegan vanilla coconut milk ice cream
