  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (zest from 1 lemon)
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon. baking powder
  • Dash salt
  • 12 plums (preferably Italian)
  • 12 sugar cubes
  • 4 to 5 pieces of Zwieback (crushed or 1 cup bread crumbs)
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (or powdered sugar)
