Heather’s Version Of Wendy’s Chilli

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1, 29 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2, 29 oz cans pinto beans
  • 1 c diced onion
  • 1 or 2 cans of diced green chilis
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 3-5 chopped tomatoes (optional, or can used canned)
  • 2 Tablespoons cumin
  • Chili powder to taste/heat
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 2 cups of water-can be less if tomatoes water it down

Directions

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion (drain fat if necessary) in a large stock pot. Add all ingredients and simmer for 2-3 hours.
  2. ***can be cooked in the Instapot. Use sauté function for the meat and onions, then cook on high pressure for 15-20 minutes. This is my preferred method!
