Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 300g can chick peas, drained
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup low fat natural yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sweet paprika to garnish
  • Toasted pita bread and vegetable sticks to serve

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a small pan, add garlic and sesame seeds; cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes, or until seeds are lightly browned.
  2. Blend or process seed mixture with chick peas, juice, yoghurt, water, salt and pepper until smooth.
  3. Spoon mixture into a serving bowl. Sprinkle with paprika; serve with toasted pita bread and vegetable sticks.
