Combine breadcrumbs and water. Stir in eggs, parmesan cheese, herbs, salt and pepper. Add meat and mix well. Form 20 to 24 meatballs. Heat oil and cook meatballs in skillet until brown, turning regularly over medium to low heat.
Place meatballs on paper towels to absorb any leftover oils. Heat sauce to a boil, lower to simmer. Add meatballs and cook loosely covered for 30 to 40 minutes.
For spicier meatballs add cayenne and ginger. Brown sugar for sweeter.
