Remove the stalk from the broccoli. Finely chop the stalk with the garlic and chillies.
Cut the broccoli florets into small bite size pieces. Place the broccoli in a saucepan with water, bring to the boil. Boil for 5-7 minutes.
In the meantime, add some oil to a saucepan, add the anchovy and cook for a minute or so while mushing the anchovy to a paste. Add the chopped broccoli stalk, garlic and chilli and cook for another minute or so until ingredients begin to soften. Turn heat to low and put the lid on.
When the broccoli is ready, remove with a slotted spoon, and add to the garlic mixture. Replace the lid and allow to simmer on low. Allow broccoli to break right down.
Add the pasta to the boiling water that the broccoli was in and cook according to the packet instructions.
When the pasta is ready, drain, but keep a small amount of the pasta water.
Add the broccoli mixture to the drained pasta and mix together. Add a little of the pasta water if needed.
