  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup (120g) King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • Filling
  • 3 tablespoons (43g) butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup (131g) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons (12g) King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup (72g) almond flour or finely ground almonds
  • 5 canned pear halves in heavy syrup, well drained; or ripe pear halves
  • 1 tablespoon (14g) melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sparkling sugar, optional but pretty
