Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup shortenning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 TBSP ice water

Directions

  1. Mix flour and salt, cut shortening into flour. Mixture will resemble texture of tiny split peas. Do not use hands to mix it. Add ice water and combine with fork. Gather into ball and flatten. Wrap in plastic. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Prick pie crust on bottom to prevent puffing up. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Cool.
