  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon rose water
  • 2 drops liquid pink food color
  • Raspberry Filling
  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen raspberries (thawed)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • Raspberry Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons raspberry filling (recipe above)
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream or milk.
  • Assembly
  • Assorted meringues (recipe follows)
  • Fresh raspberries
  • Giant Meringues
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 6 egg whites at room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Gold leaf (optional)
