Susan's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa (such as Hershey's)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Glaze:
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375*. Grease a round cake pan.
  2. 2. Heat butter, cocoa and water in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it boils.
  3. 3. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, mixing well.
  4. 4. Pour into cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until done.

5. Make glaze:

  1. Combine cocoa, butter, and milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, stirring until smooth. Spread warm glaze over cake. Top with fresh fruit.
