Tropical Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 cup frozen mango cubes
  • 1–2 cups coconut water
  • 3–4 Tablespoons flax meal or chia seeds
  • 2 servings protein powder
  • 4 cups baby spinach
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes

Directions

  1. Place all the ingredients into the blender in the order listed.
  2. Secure the lid and blend until smooth.
  3. Serve immediately for best flavor, or refrigerate and drink within half a day.
  4. NOTES
  5. Add more or less liquid depending on how thick you like your smoothie. I usually add 1 cup of coconut milk from the can along with 1/2 of a peeled orange.
  6. The nutritional information has been calculated with the liquid combination I described above and with 4 Tablespoons chia seeds, and 2 teaspoons spirulina.
