Mix cake ingredients well. Bake in a greased, flares tube pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees. After cake has cooled slightly, invert it onto a platter and mix “icing.”
Combine icing and boil for 1 minute. Poke holes in cake with a fork and pour icing over cake. It looks like a lot, but keep pouring!
Cake is better if it sits so that rum is absorbed.
