  • 2 large green bell peppers, seeded and coarsely chopped
  • 2 celery ribs, coarsely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 (1-pound) cans whole tomatoes with their juice, broken into chunks
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 pound small shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 whole bay leaves
