Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 can Mountain Dew or sprite

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350
  2. Spray. 9 x 13 inch pan. Peel and core the apples and cut into eight slices for a total of 16. Starting at the point end, roll each Apple pinching the ends so the apple is enclosed in the roll. Place nice side up in the pan 4 x 4. Melt the butter then stir in the sugar until the sugar is just wet but not dissolved. Stir in vanilla. Pour over apples. Pour soda around the outside edges of pan. Will bubble but that's okay. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool 10 minutes before serving with ice cream. They can be cut in half for 32 servings. Try using other fruit like peaches or pears.
