• 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
• 1 large egg
• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup low-fat buttermilk
• Cooking spray
• 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced peeled Braeburn apple (about 3/4 pound)
