Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 3-4 TBS warm water
  • 1 cups room temperature water
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups simple syrup

Directions

  1. Mix yeast and warm water and let sit for 10 minutes
  2. Mix flour, corn starch and salt
  3. Add yeast mixture to flour mixture and mix
  4. Slowly add 2 cups of water a little at a time and mix well
  5. Let sit uncovered for 1 hour
  6. Heat vegetable oil over medium heat
  7. Scoop tsp of dough and drop in oil with spoon straight down into oil
  8. Fry until golden brown and flip with fork
  9. When golden brown on both sides remove with strainer
  10. Drop in simple syrup and roll around
  11. Let sit in simple syrup while next batch is frying
  12. Remove from simple syrup to Pyrex or bowl
