Beef Pho

Ingredients

  • onions, quartered
  • 1 (4-inch) piece of ginger, peeled
  • and halved
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 3 star anise pods
  • 6 cloves
  • 20 oucnes Flavor Chef Beef Bone
  • Broth
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 cups butternut squash zoodles
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly
  • sliced across the grains

Directions

Turn the broiler to high
On a baking sheet, spread the
quartered onions and halved
ginger.
Broil for 10 to 15 mins, turning occasionally so they are
charred or browned on all sides.
In a dry saute pan over low heat,
combine the cinnamon, fennel,
coriander, star anise, and cloves.
Cook until fragrant, stirring
occasionally, about 5 mins.
Remove from the heat and wrap with the
cheesecloth to make a small
bundle.
In a medium saucepan over
medium heat. warm the broth with
the onion and ginger mixture and
the toasted aromatics.
Add the fish sauce and bring to a gentle boil, the reduce the heat to low.
Simmer for 30 mins.
Remove the seasonings.
Add the zoodles and steak.
Cook for 5 mins.
Serve topped with all or just your
favorite toppings.
