Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 1.5 C Bread Flour
  • 1.5 C AP Flour
  • 1T Brown Sugar
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2T unsalted butter, melted
  • 12 oz. Beer, (a bold and flavorful beer)
  • 1/4 C shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Middle rack placement.
  2. Sift flour and baking soda into a large mixing bowl. 
  3. Add salt and sugar and whisk together.
  4. Using a wooden spoon, slowly poor beer into bowl and stir until dough forms. Do not over mix. Dough will be sticky and lumpy.
  5. Poor into a 9x5 bread pan and gently guide dough to fill edges. Let rest 5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cheese on top then poor butter over bread.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes.
  8. Turn out onto a cooling rack and let rest for at least 45 minutes before serving.
