Chinese Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1kg asparagus or any green vegetable
  • 2 T soy sauce or 1T Fish/Oyster sauce, 1T soy
  • 1t sesame oil
  • 1dessetspoon water
  • 1T toasted sesame seed
  • 1T chopped cashews

Directions

  1. Snap off woody ends of asparagus
  2. Put an inch of water in a fry pan and bring to the boil
  3. Put an inch of water plus ice into a shallow dish
  4. Add enough asparagus to the boiling water so they lay flat. Allow asparagus to cook for 1 minute and then immediately plung the asparagus into the iced water to stop the cooking.
  5. Repeat until all asparagus is cooked.
  6. Place in a shallow dish in the fridge until needed
  7. Mix together sauce, oil and water.Add dressing and sesame seeds before serving.
