Grandma Mom's Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 8-9 Granny Smith apples - peels and cored
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 2 Pie crust
  • 2 sticks of butter

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425
  2. Slice apples into thin pieces and place into a large bowl
  3. In a medium bowl mix the flour, cinnamon and sugar
  4. Press pie crust into pie pan
  5. Sprinkle half of flour mixture into the bottom of the pie crust, add the apples and put the remainder of the flour mixture over the apples. Cut the sticks of butter into 2 tablespoon chunks. Place one at the center of the pie, the others evenly spaced around the pie on top of the apples. Place the second pie crust on top. Flute and seal the edges of the pie. Make slits on the top pie crust. Cover edges with a 3" strip of foil. Bake pie for 45-50 minutes - removing edge foil strip for last 15 minutes of baking.
