Millets Upma

Ingredients

  • • 1 cup little millet rava
  • • 1 chopped onion
  • • 1/2cup chopped carrots and capsicum
  • • 1tsp green chilli paste
  • • salt to taste
  • • lemon to taste
  • • 5 to 7 cashews
  • • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • *Ingredients for green chutney*
  • • 1 cup coriander
  • • 1 tbs cashewnut
  • • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • • 1 date
  • • salt as per taste
  • • 1 lemon
  • • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  1. Blend all above to make the green chutney
  2. Pls note garlic is optional for chutney
  3. *Method for Upma*
  4. 1) Take a steel pan and dry roast mustard and curry leaves
  5. 2) Add onion and sauté for a while
  6. 3) Add the chopped vegetables, cashews and green chilli paste and mix well.
  7. 4) Add the millet rava and water and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  8. Serve Upma with green chutney and lemon or coconut chutney or with dairy free curd too😋
  9. *Variation*
  10. You can use any millet semolina like foxtail, barnyard, kodo or brown top but little millet and foxtail millet taste the best for this recipe👍🏻
