Oatmeal Carmelitas

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 butter (melted)
  • 1 cup (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup of caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 tbsp flour

Directions

  1. Oven: 350 degrees
  2. Mix flour (1 cup,) rolled oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and melted butter. Blend well to form crumbs. Press half of crumbs on bottom of 11 x 7" pan. Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes
  3. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans. Blend caramel topping with 3 tbsp flour. Pour caramel mixture back and forth over chocolate and pecans. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
  4. Bake 15-20 minutes, chill and cut into bars.
