  • 3 tbps unsalted butter
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp hot sauce optional, to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • cup allpurpose flour
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup clam juice
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 tsp bay leaf
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced Yukon Gold or Russet work well
  • cup Half and Half
  • 1 can chopped clams, drained reserve juice if desired
  • 2 tsps fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
