Sticky toffee pudding

Ingredients
- 4oz chopped dates
- 1/2 pint boiling water
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 2oz MARG
- 6oz caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 8oz self raising flour
- 4 oz butter
- 8oz light brown sugar
- 1/2 pint double cream
Directions
1. Cream MARG &sugar, add egg then flour and date mixture.
2. Put in greased casserole dish and bake at 170* for 30-40 mins TIL brown and spongy.
3. To make sauce, melt butter, stir in sugar until melted. Add cream and simmer for 2 mins.
