Susan’s Walnut Chocolate Chip Rye Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups rye flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375*
  2. Mix together butter and sugars until creamy. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  3. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on pan for a few minutes, then finish cooling on a wire rack.
