Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • Frosting:
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 3 3/4 cups posdered sugar
  • 1 cup nuts

Directions

  1. Heat margarine, cocoa and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously until it boils, remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, and mix well. Pour onto a greased 9x12 inch pan and bake for 40 minutes at 375 F.
  2. To make the frosting bring the first three ingredients to a boil, remove from heat, add powdered sugar, stirring until smooth, add nuts, mix lightly. Frost cake while frosting is still warm for easier spreading.
