Ingredients

  • 1 c flour
  • 2/3 c brown sugar
  • 1 T shortening
  • 1 c molasses
  • 3/4 c boiling water
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 t baking soda

Directions

  1. combine flour, brown sugar & shortening (set aside 1/2 c to use as crumbs for top
  2. take remaining crumbs and add molasses, boiling water, egg & b. soda
  3. mix and pour into 9"inch pie shell
  4. put the 1/2 c crumbs you saved & put on top
  5. bake 375- 10 min then turn down ad bake 350 - 30 min

Pour into a bread pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350°F for about 60 min. Let cool and then top with glaze & enjoy!"
