Peel, core and slice apples vetrtically into 8 slices each. Squeeze lemon onto the apples to keep them from browning.
In a medium saucepan, mix 1/2 c water, 1/2 c sugar, butter and vanilla. Bring to boil over med heat.
Separate biscuits into 2 layers. Wrap a biscuit layer around a slice of apple, stretch to overlap, and seal on the bottom.
Place the wrapped slices, sealed side down, it to a 9x12x2 dish. Pour the hot sugar mixture over Apple slices. Sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon and walnuts over the tops of wrapped apples. Bake 35 min
