1. Sprinkle yeast over warm water in a small bowl, stir to dissolve.
2. Add 1/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of vegetable shortening, 1/2 teaspoons of salt, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 1 egg, 4 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of yeast and 1/2 cup of boiling water
3. Mix together
4. Once it is a proper dough consistency, let rest for 30min under a cloth.
5. Roll out dough and cut into individual squares
6. Let rise for 2 hours
Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown
7. Top with icing sugar and enjoy!
