Choc Caramel Slice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 125g butter/margarine
  • 60g butter/margarine
  • 2 T golden syrup
  • 1 tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 125g cooking chocolate
  • 1 T vegetable oil or copha

Directions

  1. Add flour, brown sugar and coconut to melted butter. Press into a lined slice tin. Bake in a moderate oven for 25-30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, melt remaining butter, golden syrup and condensed milk until it just starts to change colour and thicken. Add to base and cook a further 15-20 minutes or until bubbling and golden.
  3. When the base is cold, add the melted chocolate/oil and cut into squares when set.
