Ingredients

  • 2 cups self rising cornmeal (4)
  • 1 cup self rising flour (2)
  • 1/4 tsp soda (1/2)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (1)
  • 2 Tbsp oil (1/4 cup)
  • 2 1/4 cups buttermilk (4 c + 1/2c milk)

Directions

  1. Combine thoroughly the cornmeal, flour, soda and sugar.
  2. Add oil and butter milk.
  3. Stir until well blended.
  4. Spoon into a well greased and floured 9 inch pan
  5. let mixture stand in pan for 15 minutes before baking.
  6. Bake at 375°F For about 45 minutes.
  7. Cover loosely and let it cool in the pan
