Beat together eggs, milk and spices.
Heat a griddle on medium high heat and lightly grease with butter.
Dip bread into egg mixture, allowing it to soak in well.
Add to prepared skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.
Meanwhile, heat a small skillet on medium high. Add butter and fruit and lightly sauté the fruit while the French toast cooks.
To serve, top toast with fruit and nuts and a sprinkling of cinnamon, accompanied by a bit of ricotta cheese or yogurt.
