Gram's Apple Slices
Ingredients
- 5 cups cake flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 stick butter
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 6 apples peeled and sliced thin
- 1/4 cup orange juice
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together. Work butter in with pastry fork. Using your hands, mix in beaten eggs until dough forms. Divide dough in half. Grease cookie sheet. Roll dough out and fit onto cookie sheet. Top with sliced apples, sprinkle with sugar, lemon or orange juice and cinnamon. Roll out remaining dough and place on top of apples. Brush top with milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- To make glaze: mix confectionery sugar with orange juice until spreadable. When cooled, spread glaze on top.
