Italian Ravioli Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 26-28-oz jars sun dried tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 15-oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning, crushed
  • 2 25-oz package frozen cheese filled ravioli
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded Italian blended cheeses

Directions

  1. Lightly coat a 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray or a liner bag
  2. For sauce, in a dutch oven cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Stir in pasta sauce, tomato sauce, and seasoning.
  3. Place 1 cup of the meat mixture in the slow cooker. Add one package of the frozen ravioli and sprinkle with the cheese. top with half of the remaining meat mixture. Add remaining package of ravioli and 1 cup of the remaining cheese. Top with remaining meat mixture.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours. Turn off cooker and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Makes 10.5 (1.5 cup) servings
