Parmesan Meatballs in Mozzarella Basil Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ozs orzo pasta
  • meatballs (Parmesan)
  • 11/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan (finely)
  • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • milk (a couple splashes of)
  • basil cream sauce (Mozzarella)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 shallots (small)
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 11/2 cups milk (I use lowfat)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsps corn starch
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup petite peas (frozen, thawed)
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup flat leaf parsley (loosely packed, minced)
  • 10 basil (leafs, chiffonade**)
  • grated parmesan cheese (freshly)
  • fresh basil
  • fresh parsley
  • lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
