Praline Cake

Ingredients

  • Mix first 3 ingredients in saucepan over low heat until melted. Pour into 9 x 13" pan. Place in freezer or refrigerator to set - about 5 minutes:
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. whipping cream (from quart)
  • Add broken Pecans.
  • Mix according to box directions:
  • 1 box devils food cake
  • Pour over caramel mixture.
  • Bake at 325 degrees 35-45 minutes.
  • Cool 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto cake dish and leave several minutes, letting caramel and nuts release onto top of cake. Remove pan.
  • Icing:
  • I quart heavy whipping cream (minus 1/4 c. used in topping) Whip until frothy
  • Add:
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • I 3.5 oz. box French vanilla instant pudding
  • Mix well. Spread over cake.
