  • 1⁄2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked in water for 2 hours
  • 1⁄2 red bell pepper, chopped (about 1⁄2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh basil, or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash black pepper (optional)
  • Dash cayenne

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor fitted with the S blade and process until smooth. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator, Marinara Sauce will keep for three days.
