  • 1 lb sweet casings removed; or hot italian sausage
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 1 c heavy cream
  • 1 c grated parmesan cheese plus more for topping
  • zest and juice of 1 lemon grated
  • 1/4 c fresh basil chopped
