Ingredients

  • 1 head of white cabbage shredded
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1 sweet onion diced in cubes
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 3 cloves smashed garlic
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a Dutch oven and caramelize onions. Add carrots and sauté another 5min.
  2. Add cabbage, broth and half the butter. Cook for 15-20 min until cabbage is wilted but not cooked through.
  3. Add tomato sauce
